Agenda Item 1

(Cory) Waive any current late fees for Phillip and consider preemptively waiving future months' fees.

Cory: Basically, whenever someone is receiving assistance, that tends to come later in the month, and then we accrue late fees to that.

Philip: The rent's going to get paid, it just takes a while.

Clarifying question: Could we change the due date of the rent instead of waiving the late fees?

Concerns/amendments
Cory: We could push the deadline back to the end of the month. I just don't want to have to keep coming to the house.

Paul: It could be more of a burden on finance officers. A generic version of this might look like: no late fees for people receiving financial assistance.

Amendment: Waive Philip's late fees while waiting on assistance to arrive.

Amendment accepted.

Passed as amended.

New business

Bernard: The mailboxes are still broken.
Our previous mailman used to report our mailbox. He suggested new mailboxes
Stormie: Those boxes aren't going to be fixed for many months. We could install our own mailboxes on our units.
Philip: David & I went to the post office.
David: They said there was a work order put in.
Graham: The morning the post office boxes got busted Bernard let me know, and I spoke to a federal investigator. He told me it's not going to get fixed soon.

Radish: I think we should have a new agreement with Food Not Bombs about using our pantry food. Maybe a new labor position - someone who sorts some about-to-expire food into a box for FNB.
Bernard: There's definitely some people here hoarding food immediately.
Cory: We've talked about limiting food supplies to cooks. There are pros & cons.
Stormie: Yeah, food about to expire should be fair game, but maybe the frozen meats should be kept for cooks.
Bernard: Can we just make a “just for cooks” section?
Cory: Plus the “for FNB shelf”?
Chin-Hae: I can sort some food to FNB on Friday since I've been cataloging the incoming Keep Austin Fed food anyway.

Cory: CHEA board meeting this Thursday.

Dwayne fell yesterday but he wants people to know he's OK.

Frog: Got a second quote on AC for #111, $3000 cheaper than the first.
Cory: The #207 AC is also funky in a way I don't know to fix.

Cory: I want to get a drain cam for the sewage lines. We've had multiple plumbers tell us we need to look into replacing our trunk lines.
David: I'll mention that to Daniel Miller too.
