Wiki Updates & Announcements

Stormie: We have a new associate, Aiden. He hopes to move in August.

Stairs are repaired!

Agenda Item 1

(auto) Officer reports

Leah, board: We passed a budget on the CHEA level, so now the houses need to be passing their budgets. We debated raising operations manager hours and settled on 20 hours. Rent increases are coming regardless and this feels like the best way for us to go forward and fulfill our obligations to NASCO and ourselves. Corey has completed his bank research and has advised us to switch to Frost, and we’ve created accounts there.

Kate, maintenance: The stairs are done. We reinforced or replaced base pieces. Jarod put walkthrough information into the Trello. I’m handing off maintenance to Logan and have gotten with her about that and ongoing projects.

Russ, bookkeeper: I tested the stairs and they survived. Bookkeeper is going well. I’m gladly handing off to Tiff. I’m setting up reminders for various tasks that need doing throughout the month - I want my successor to be successful. Some people haven’t made June payments yet, and I hope they do shortly, before I announce the missed payments.

Lyssa, food buyer: Things are going smoothly. I wish I had my own card.

Stormie, membership coordinator: We are fully occupied. We do have a couple people on the waitlist, and a new associate member Aiden. This week has been intense from the NASCO side of things, so I will be catching up on leases, contract signatures, and income disclosure forms.

Philip, grounds: The night waterers haven’t been watering, for days. I’m doing all the work. Some of the plants are browning. People are worried about the tree out front.

Len, treasurer: We passed our CHEA budget. I’d like to have budgets for the house by next Sunday. I’d like to have an option with a food budget increase, and an option that builds our reserves. Hopefully rent increase will only be about $30/room. If you have feedback or want to work on a committee about this please reach out to me, and please come to the meeting. I’m trying to track down a former member to give him his deposit back.

Jennifer, event coordinator (by message): I was traveling, but we celebrated June birthdays. I’m handing events to

Chinhae, labor czar (by message): I have been monitoring labor. There’s been a drop-off in signatures; please sign off on your labor.

Logan, incoming maintenance: I haven’t been maintenance for a bit; I have to do some catch-up. Nynke will be doing some maintenance assistance.

Beryl, steward: I was able to hand off MemCo. Steward has been quiet. The election was quiet. I have the results right here.

Agenda Item 2

(Steward) Election Results (if we don't have quorum we can discuss extending the deadline)

Lyssa wins the food buyer contest by one vote.

New business

Graham: Ezgi is part of Lago Vista Democrats, who are running part of the Lago Vista July Fourth Parade. Everyone’s invited to join the parade!

Concern: Food Not Bombs has been allowing someone who is not part of their group to enter our common space and sleep in the library.

Point of information: I’m on the FNB slack. I’ll mention it to them.

Leah: At the CHEA level we’re trying to create committees to address various aspects of co-op governance. You’re all welcome to join as many as you’d like. Email boardrep@chea.coop if you’re interested, with your contact info and what committees you want to join.
