Agenda Item 1
(Steward) Officer reports
Frog, steward: I’m still managing pest control. We want to get the commons done before the block party.
Richard, maintenance: I have the email account and am answering emails. If you emailed this month I should have either replied or dispatched someone for the issue. I am negotiating a final date for roach treatment - the earliest is this coming Friday, for the commons/west building. The other dates are more flexible, and can be in either order. East will probably be next, doing each a week apart. Residents should to do some work to prepare their units and not be in the units for a number of hours. I’m not planning on allowing any opt-outs - we’ll see.
Richard, maintenance: Also, electrician Wednesday, for one building, and also for the electrical main issue in the backyard.
Leah, board: I’ve taken over for CHEA treasurer, instead of chair, which Gardenia will be taking. Budget season is soon.
Leah for Joy, labor: Labor report should be out soon, with an amended report attached as well. We might not have a Sunday cook for a while. People have schedules that don’t always work for our labor plans. Robbie might be cooking Tuesdays or Thursdays. New labor chart should be out soon. Gabe’s going well on his labor plan.
Lyssa, events: In a few weeks - the 19th of April - we’ll be celebrating the co-op’s birthday! We’re planning a block party as well - inviting neighbors, having different vendors or food or music or fun stuff like that, but I need help for all of that - let’s coordinate. Advertising - some light flyering - cooking, setting up, security, that all needs workers, and people on the planning committee. Let’s try to meet Wednesday at 7 pm.
Kate, treasurer: Heading into budget season. Get ready to talk about increasing rent. Still examining how we do maintenance reimbursements with NASCO.
Tif, bookkeeper: Six people on payment plans, about five people who need to get on payment plans. I need to follow up with them.
Cory, speaking for the dead “tech officer” position: We talked with David and the board and Sasona’s tech officer and decided to centralize our websites, so now all our websites are dokuwiki & on the same server. There’s still work to do but the La Re website is working well.
Bernard, kitchen manager: People need to be cleaning more. Fridges look decent. Also, there’s a leaking pipe in the laundry room.
Bernard for Jill, grounds: She’s got battery-powered equipment for use here.
Reyna, membership: Rooms are close to full, until April 7th. Someone might take a whole unit.
<No food buyer report.>
New business
Point of information: Keep vigilant - a dude showed up the other day and tried to claim he was going to a unit of people who did not know him. That’s not the first time it’s happened.
—
Leah: Rules workgroup meeting soon. It’s an ongoing conversation about our rules and CHEA rules. I’ll send out an email and remind folks. There’s also talk about a grants workgroup, but I can’t head that as well as the rules group.
—
Bernard: We got a new fire pit!
<Ceremonious unveiling of the new fire pit.>
—
Diana: Smokers, please try to prevent butts everywhere. I’m always picking them up.
