Agenda Items
Agenda Item 1
(Events Coordinator) Discuss April 19th Coop Birthday Block Party updates, sign ups for volunteer positions
Lyssa, events: We’ll have sign-up sheets for different crews - Security, and clean-up and teardown. One and a half or two hour shifts, probably. Bernard’s making food, and there will be alcohol. It’s starting around 4 and will be family-friendly until after 8 pm, soft-ending around 1 am. There’s likely to be music and activities, loosely planned so far. Does anyone want to make cornhole boards? I’ll print out flyers and share the image so people can send it around digitally. It’ll be cute.
Agenda Item 2
(corey) Buy a smart thermostat for the commons, set a standardized temperature and password lock it so people stop cranking the AC to temperatures so low that the HVAC runs 24/7 uninterrupted and dies routinely.
Cory: The AC’s not running. The thermostat on there works but the dial is funky. This has happened repeatedly, maybe once a year - the machine icing over because people use it too hard and it floods the AC cabinet. Cranking the AC down to make it cool faster doesn’t work. I want to spend $250 on a thermostat with temperature sensors and a lower temperature limit and a password. Hopefully this will leave the AC more reliable and long-lasting. We could probably get a small rebate from Austin Energy too. Also, if we ever set up two ACs in this unit, I think we could connect them both to this thermostat. It could reasonably come out of maintenance or miscellaneous budget.
Approved.
New business
We have pest control is coming tomorrow & Tuesday. They told me 8-5 tomorrow - that’s the rat catcher. Tuesday is roaches. Gilbert will also be shoring up window sills this week, especially in 102 and facing the southern parking lot.

Frog: Wednesday is my oath ceremony to become an American citizen, and I want to have a get-together that night. Looking forward to it!
