Wiki Updates & Announcements

Washer closer to the door has a broken hook in the door, and we’re trying to figure out how to replace the part.

Agenda Item 1

(Steward) Discuss accessibility concerns surrounding House policy and communication of House processes.

Point of information: I know this had to do with outdated wording in our rules.

Point of information: Our website isn’t exactly user-friendly.

Beryl: I’ve noticed that there’s gaps in how we educate new members.

Leah, board member: There’s been discussion at the board and NASCO level about this. We’ve talked about dedicated labor devoted to onboarding and working on accessibility/accommodations process.

Point of information: I’ve worked on an onboarding slide deck that I’m happy to share with people.

POI: The wiki is not up to date, and hard to read.

Frog: I have ideas for making the website more readable.

New business

Maintenance: Fixing the stairs will cost multiple thousands of dollars, and NASCO says plumbing should be prioritized over the stairs, and that there are alternate staircases.

Beryl: The food situation in the commons is so bad.

Paul: No-shows haven’t gone out in a long time. There isn’t a sheet. I can’t no-show the people not cleaning the fridge and pantry.

POI: We can print one out, get it done.

POI: No-shows go out weekly in the labor reports.

POI: There’s other issues in the labor system. We can talk about it more during officer meetings next week.

Beryl: We should have more email and written communications of things that affect the whole co-op. The laundry room project took too long, and there wasn’t good notice around it.

POI: Maintenance coordinator is supposed to make a weekly report. I think it’s partially about labor reports.

Clarifying question: How much money do we make on the washer/dryer? Is it worth leaving it accessible? Can we lock it some of the time?

POI: We used to make a few thousand a year on it. I think it should be kept open as a service to the community as well.

POI: We could make a bilingual sign about not trying to open the washer during operation.

CQ: Can we do something about the truck parking in the handicapped spot?

Beryl, steward: I can talk to him.

POI: There’s a gray SUV too.

CQ: Do we want to go back to parking tags?

POI: That should be an agenda item.
