Minutes approved.
The ballots for NP board rep are due by midnight tonight.
(Steward) Gardenia is stepping down from memco due to health reasons, i will be filling in to the best of my ability until there is a replacement
Beryl: Gardenia is stepping down. I’ve been educated on MemCo responsibilities.
Point of information: When does the election for that start?
Beryl: Soon.
(Steward) Automatic member review for the following individuals for labor no shows:
-Jess -Gardenia -Quinn -Gabe -Jared (208)
Quinn’s labor review:
Quinn: Weeks ago Bernard came up to me and asked me to switch from Saturdays to Wednesdays. When Stormie was making the labor plan it looked like I wasn’t doing anything, because it said I was Saturday when I was already Wednesday. I was sick as a dog one week but otherwise have been cooking on Wednesdays.
Stormie: Yeah, Bernard never updated the spreadsheet about that. I looked through cooking records and only saw Cait’s emails. I was under the assumption that Quinn had not been doing labor.
Clarifying question: You don’t think the no-shows are valid?
Stormie: Not fully valid. But two people were working on Wednesdays and sharing cooking, which isn’t normal.
Quinn: I’ve been cleaning and tackling food and insect problems in the co-op.
Point of information: It sounds like they weren’t assigned enough labor because of officer actions, and I don’t think they should be no-showed or reviewed for that.
Point of information: I think the best action here would be choosing “no action.”
“No action” wins the straw poll.
Jared’s labor review: Stormie: Jared didn’t sign off on any labor during the 3 weeks I was labor czar, and was no-showed by other members as well.
Jared: I’ve been in a weird living situation and stressing about overpaying. I don’t have any excuses about the labor.
Stormie: He had a 3-month labor contract a while ago. He was just under the threshold of violating his labor contract for much of that.
Jared: I do plan to come to more meetings - my new job no longer works me on Sunday. I’ve only been assigned one DCU.
Behavior contract wins the straw poll.
Suggested behavior contract item:
1. No more than 3 hours of no-shows per month.
2. The labor czar must be notified of labor missed due to travel, illness, or extenuating circumstances.
3. This behavioral contract shall be in place for 3 months starting June 1st.
Behavioral contract approved.
Gardenia’s labor review:
Statement: I am deeply sorry for falling so far behind in my labor. I am very sick with a dynamic condition that will worsen over time. I was supposed to be a minutes taker but was not able to keep up with it. It was suggested I become an officer to fill my hours, but that was very difficult and I had to step down almost immediately. I have talked with the labor czar about accommodated labor.
Point of information: I believe this is an innocent missing of labor.
Chinhae (labor czar): This is an accessibility issue. I think assigning him education or documented roles will help, but we’re still talking about which role will be best suited for him.
POI: Anyone can request labor hour accommodations for disability.
CQ: I don’t understand how they were no-showed for 8 hours when they were only assigned to take minutes.
Stormie: They were assigned labor but they weren’t doing any labor.
“No action” wins the straw poll.
Gabe’s labor review:
Gabe has been in and out of the hospital for multiple weeks. They had to briefly stop his heart. It’s scary.
Stormie: I wouldn’t have progressed this if I had known. I had heard about him being in hospital.
“No action” wins the straw poll.
Jess’s labor review:
Stormie: She wasn’t signing off on her grounds labor.
Philip, grounds coordinator: She was doing her labor.
POI: We require sign-offs for labor.
POI: Our rules don’t, but some officers require it as a nicety for labor reporting.
POI: This sounds like it could be an email.
“No action” wins the straw poll.
(Steward) i need help creating an up-to-date list of all our associate members with contact info; our current records are very out of date, and as a result it makes it extremely difficult to get things like ballots for the NP board rep out to associates in a timely manner, and given that i am doing double duty as memco and steward, i simply do not have the capacity to do it myself on top of all the other things i am juggling.
We have a discussion. The names Elicia, Ken, Dao, Ezgi, Yarrow, Ryan, Hannah come up. We resolve to post notice to the commons door and the email list requesting contact info for associates and people on the waitlist.
(Paul) Reimburse Jared with rent credit for the length of time he's been overpaying ($508/mo instead of $339/mo) to live in a unit with 3 people.
POI: I believe this started late October. Our last MemCo did not set the right price and that went to the finance system. $169/mo, a little over a thousand.
Russ, bookkeeper: That would be easy to do.
Approved.
Chinhae: I’d like to have a labor position assigned for things like maintaining food safety and standards.

Leah agrees to help with MemCo labor.

Additional meeting of the board on Thursday this week.

Special election nominations for membership coordinator going up soon. Sign up!

Russ, bookkeeper: I’m curious to know what people think about the finance reports.
