Beryl, steward: I put up the labor czar nominations since Joy has expressed interest. I notified Stormie someone was interested and I just need to send out an email about the special election period. I’ll announce results on Wednesday.

Logan: I’m picking up stuff for the ancestor’s altar this week, so if any of you have loved ones you want to remember you should think about collecting photos or other mementos of that person. That’ll be Wednesday or Thursday of the week after this upcoming one.

Gardenia: The Co-opportunity Fair is happening this Wednesday evening at Black Star Co-op, 5-8 pm.

Cory: We haven’t been getting maintenance reimbursements from NASCO. We sent money to them this time. Combined with Sasona we’re going to be paying about 65% of our usual rent to them. Hopefully they’ll sell more properties soon and take the pressure off. We still need a treasurer. I want to figure out why people don’t want to run for the role.

Kate: I think they assume it involves math, which it really doesn’t.

(Gardenia) A Kitchen Labor orientation is being organized to help get everyone on the same page about expectations and standards regarding food storage, cleanliness, and general responsibilities for kitchen labor positions (cook, dcu, etc) before one of our weekly sunday meetings, and input is needed to help choose a date that works best.

Gardenia: We all need to get on the same page. When we have the same information about how to treat the kitchen we can identify the problems with our current methods more easily. This is just about coordinating with everyone.

Bernard, kitchen manager: We definitely need to coordinate with cooks to up our kitchen quality. Maybe we could meet once a month.

Point of information: What about the first Sunday of the month? Officer meetings are the last Sunday.

Gardenia: I think we should give it a try. If it doesn’t work we can make more of a push to check for compatible meeting times.

(Steward) Pickles, Gabe, Leo, Robbie, and Lorenzo are up for automatic member review for missed labor.

Clarifying question: Do we have information on the labor hours missed, and when? I think we need that information. Then we can ensure they’re correct.

Lorenzo: I will make sure I do extra hours over the next week.

POI: What if we postponed these to next week so we can ensure everyone is informed for the membership reviews?

POI: These should also be separate agenda items for the minutes.

Leah: Compost will be picked up on Wednesdays. Philip broke the lock because he didn’t have access to the key. We need a system for collecting compost in the commons. We’d need a compost person to put the compost bin outside for collection; we can’t put non-compost things in there or we’ll face fines.

POI: We need a compost bin in the commons.

Gardenia: We can train people on what to compost in the kitchen orientation.
