Board meeting this Thursday.
We need to track and log hours from people cleaning up after Phil’s space and his stuff left at the dumpster. We’ll also need painting, light drywall work and other simple labor for #109.
It’s freezing tonight. We’ll be locking up the washing machines. We’ve got some salt if necessary. Use the southern stairs if they're marginal.
We have a card for the Frost account.
(Labor czar) Finalize which Saturday the January labor holiday will be on. Discuss/decide on specific projects from the suggestions.
January 25th was the most-selected day in the survey.
Cory: Some people don’t want their lock rekeyed. If this is you, let us know! The default will be to rekey every lock, and you opting out will save us work.
Joy, labor: Labor holiday tasks include: lock rekeying, power-washing, filling various holes, pruning, deep-cleaning the kitchen and commons.
Frog, maintenance: We’re going to add a lock to the small pantry in the kitchen.
Joy: I want to organize teams now, and I’d love house input on what the signup sheet looks like, rather than doing it all day-of.
POI: Letting people sign up for individual projects is a good start.
POI: People can sign up for multiple tasks, but there should only be so many slots for a lot of projects. There should be a point-person for each tasks.
Cory: I need to plan for running some of the projects - rekeying in particular.
POI: Makes sense for Jill to head the grounds closet reorganization. Does someone want to head the commons deep clean?
Cory: Please, if you need supplies for your project, let’s get them early if at all possible.
POI: We could definitely assign cooks the day-of.
Discussion closed.
Clarifying question: Do we need to get snap traps for the rats?
Point of information: I think we’ve got some.
POI: Cotton balls in peppermint oil will help repel them.
CQ: Don’t we have a contract with ChemFree?
POI: Yeah, but people in the commons kept touching their traps and making them not work.
POI: We could try putting a trap in the wall where it hangs out, near the place where it’s chewed through the wall twice.
—
Jarod: I’m moving out. My flight leaves the 11th. My work gave me less than 30 days notice so I was not able to give y’all 30 days notice, or able to get it on the agenda before I left. I’m month-to-month. Can I get it prorated?
POI: I think we’ll have someone to fill that unit.
<There is no house dissent to this proposal.>

We still need a CHEA board representative and an NP board representative. The next representative will probably be the CHEA treasurer on the board, but it’s possible to shuffle roles around. Sasona already has nominees, so we need to start our nominations ASAP.
